2014/2015 What We've Been Up To!
Hi from troop 6003! We have had a busy year of learning new handy resources to share with you. Over the holidays we learned some sewing techniques everyone should consider learning. Some of which include: how to reattach a button, how to hem pants, and how to operate a sewing machine. Using these techniques we even crafted our own seeing kits! During the winter season, we learned about the art of photography. We learned which opportunities were best to take a picture and which device to take it with (phone vs. camera). After learning this information we then took various pictures around our town to then put into a book and we will give to our local library to share with our community. Over spring season we learned extremely important skills on car care. Some helpful things we learned were how to open the hood, the importance if the coolant system and what to fill it with and how it effects your car, to check your oil, how to safely jump a car battery, and to check the tire pressure. Also some handy tips on street smarts at the mechanic, handy tools or objects to always keep with you in the car, and safety tips when driving alone (especially for females). Finally in February we celebrated world thinking day by going On a Roll (shushi) to help support our new restaurant in Long Beach.
